EAGL Rise

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Real questions from real conversations about fractional CMO leadership, strategy and AI, and how an engagement with EAGL Rise actually works.

Working With a Fractional CMO

What does a fractional CMO actually do, day to day?

A fractional CMO leads your marketing and growth strategy part-time, with the same ownership and accountability as a full-time CMO, minus the full-time cost. At EAGL Rise, that means running your growth plan, leading the people and priorities behind it, and answering for the outcomes, not just the activity.

How is a fractional CMO different from a marketing agency?

An agency executes the tactics you hand them; a fractional CMO sets the strategy those tactics should serve in the first place. EAGL Rise steps in as a senior leader inside your business, accountable for the whole growth plan, not a vendor waiting outside it for direction. When you need hands on the work too, execution can be added through Marketing Execution Blocks or Rise Complete, scaled to what your plan actually calls for.

How is this different from hiring a marketing consultant?

A consultant typically hands you a recommendation and moves on. At EAGL Rise, a fractional CMO stays in the business to see the strategy through, with a regular working cadence and real accountability for the results, not a one-time deliverable.

Wouldn't a full-time CMO hire pay off more in the long run?

Only once you've outgrown a fractional relationship, and most growth-stage businesses aren't ready to prove that out before committing to a full executive salary and package. A fractional engagement gives you the same senior leadership now, sized to what you can actually carry, and flexes as your business changes instead of locking you in.

How much time do you spend with my team?

Time with your team depends on the EAGL Rise engagement you choose, from a fixed-scope strategy sprint to an ongoing CMO seat. Some packages include a weekly rhythm with your team; others meet twice a month or run on a sprint schedule. Either way, the cadence is built around your strategy and your budget, because a plan nobody revisits doesn't get executed.

Is EAGL Rise Right for My Business?

What size or stage of company do you work with?

EAGL Rise works best with small and mid-sized businesses that have real traction, a budget set aside for marketing, and a desire to find the smartest path for investing it. If you have a team, a market, and real decisions to make about growth, you're in the right range.

We're not big enough yet to justify this kind of investment. Is this still worth exploring?

Usually, yes. Engagements are scoped to what you can actually carry, from a single strategy sprint to an ongoing seat, so "not big enough" is often a sizing question, not a disqualifying one, worth a real conversation rather than a guess.

We already tried an agency (or consultant) and it didn't work. How is this different?

Most of those relationships fail because nobody was accountable for the strategy itself, only for executing whatever was handed to them. EAGL Rise owns that strategy directly, as a senior partner inside your business, not another vendor running tactics in a vacuum.

Do you work with startups?

Only ones with prior leadership experience and a real budget behind them. EAGL Rise isn't the right fit for a pre-leadership, pre-budget startup still finding its footing, and that's something worth saying honestly rather than taking on an engagement that isn't set up to work.

What if we already have marketing help in-house?

Almost always alongside, not instead of. A fractional CMO gives your existing team senior direction and a strategy to execute against, rather than replacing the people already doing the work.

AI Strategy & the "Translation Gap"

We've already invested in AI tools. Why isn't that showing up in revenue?

Buying AI and having a strategy for it are two different things. Most companies have already piloted or purchased AI tools; what's usually missing is translating that investment into an actual go-to-market and revenue plan, which is the specific gap EAGL Rise exists to close.

What does "AI strategy" actually mean in a marketing context?

AI strategy means deciding where AI actually moves your growth numbers, and where it's just noise, a distraction, or even quietly doing damage, then building the plan around the answer. That's different from advice about which tools to buy; it's about connecting AI investment to a real demand and revenue engine.

Does EAGL Rise implement the AI tools, or just advise on strategy?

Strategy and direction, first and always. EAGL Rise decides what should be built and why, sized to what your team can carry forward. Hands-on execution is available as a separate, explicit add-on once the strategy is set, never bundled in by default.

How do you decide which AI investments are actually worth making?

EAGL Rise weighs every AI investment against your actual growth plan, not against what's trending. If a tool doesn't tie directly to a revenue or pipeline outcome in your strategy, it doesn't get recommended just because it's new. EAGL Rise is tool-agnostic, so as your business is diagnosed and your strategy takes shape, you'll get clear recommendations based on fit, but the final call on which tools you use is always yours.

Engagement Structure & Pricing

How much does a fractional CMO engagement cost?

EAGL Rise engagements are custom-quoted by scope, from a single fixed-term strategy sprint to an ongoing CMO seat, so there isn't one flat number to quote here. The honest next step is a conversation about where you actually are, so the engagement gets sized and quoted to fit, not sold off a rate card.

What’s the difference between the coaching tiers, the sprints, and the full CMO seat?

Coaching keeps you in the driver’s seat with senior guidance behind you; sprints deliver one focused strategic outcome in a fixed window; the CMO seat means EAGL Rise owns the growth plan and leads your team, typically on a weekly cadence.

How long does a typical engagement last?

EAGL Rise sprints usually run one to three months, each with a defined finish line; coaching and the CMO seat are ongoing, built to continue as long as they’re delivering. Nothing locks you into a term longer than what actually makes sense for where you are.

Can we start small and grow into a bigger engagement later?

Yes, that's actually the most common path. Many clients start with a single sprint or coaching to prove the system works, then grow into a deeper engagement once there's trust and traction.

Is there a minimum commitment?

There’s no open-ended minimum. Sprints and coaching both run on defined terms you agree to up front, so you always know exactly what you’re committing to before you start.

The Atlas Rose Credential

What does "Atlas Rose Licensed CMO (ARL)" mean?

Atlas Rose Licensed CMO (ARL) means EAGL Rise leverages a proven, licensed CMO methodology from Atlas Rose, alongside the GTM frameworks Andrea Bras built over 22+ years of leadership, rather than an approach improvised from scratch. ARL stands for Atlas Rose Leadership. Andrea Bras completed the Atlas Rose cohort and is licensed to bring that methodology into her client engagements.

Why does the Atlas Rose license matter to me as a client?

The Atlas Rose license means you’re getting a tested framework, not a first attempt. EAGL Rise pairs a strategy process, cadence, and accountability structure already proven across other licensed practitioners’ work with Andrea Bras’s own enterprise GTM experience, so nothing is invented fresh for your account.

Is this a franchise or a proprietary methodology?

It's a licensed methodology, not a franchise. Andrea Bras owns and runs EAGL Rise independently, leveraging Atlas Rose's proven CMO framework alongside her own GTM frameworks and experience.

How It Works

What happens in the first 30-60-90 days?

Every EAGL Rise engagement follows the same flight path. Where You Stand: real discovery of your business, market, and current investments, before any recommendations. Your Roadmap: a strategy built around what that discovery finds, not a template. Taking Off: the plan becomes a working cadence your team executes against. Growth You Can Measure: results tracked against the outcomes you agreed on up front. Exact timing depends on the engagement, but discovery always comes first.

What is the 12-month strategy, and how is it different from a generic marketing plan?

The EAGL Rise 12-month strategy is built from real discovery and competitive research, not a fill-in-the-blank template. It can be the focus of an Elevate Sprint or part of an ongoing engagement, and it maps the right direction first, before your marketing budget decides what gets funded now versus later. It gets read through with you page by page, so you understand and agree with every part of it before it becomes the plan your team works from.

How do you measure whether it’s working?

EAGL Rise measures results against the specific outcomes defined in your strategy, not vague activity metrics. Before the work begins, you’ll align together on what success looks like and how it gets measured. Where it fits the engagement, a testing rhythm (try something, learn from the result, apply what worked) keeps progress visible on a real cadence, not just at the end of the year.

What happens if my priorities or budget change mid-engagement?

The plan adjusts with you. Budget shapes how fast you move, not a wall that changes the strategy itself, so a shift in your situation is a conversation, not a reason to start over.

Trust & Proof

What's your background, and why should I trust your judgment on this?

Andrea Bras spent 22+ years in GTM and product marketing leadership, including 11 years as VP of Product Marketing at Viant Technology through its IPO, with direct experience turning AI investment into commercial results. She was named an LA Times Inspirational Women Award finalist (Technology & Software, 2024) and was a panelist at Highspot's Spark global conference. That's paired with a licensed Atlas Rose CMO methodology, so the judgment behind every engagement is both personally earned and independently proven.

What results have you delivered for past organizations?

Andrea Bras has a track record of turning go-to-market strategy into measurable results. At Viant Technology, she led the go-to-market for AI Bid Optimizer, which grew to 65% of platform impressions and delivered 24–40% cost savings for clients, and was part of the strategic team behind ViantAI and Autonomous Outcomes, recognized with Adweek's "Best Strategic AI Platform." She rolled out an enterprise-wide sales enablement platform in under four months, published 30+ case studies across pharma, CPG, retail, auto, QSR and healthcare, and earlier drove $20M+ in revenue at Experian.
